Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross PHEV is a sporty SUV whose distinctive design, refined Japanese quality, driving dynamics, well-thought-out layout and advanced equipment elements take the car to a whole new level. 4X4 DRIVE AND ELECTROMOBILITY Two historical paths are currently crossing and heading together into a new future. Right now is the time to set off for a better future with unique plug-in hybrid technology! * electric car architecture * advanced plug-in hybrid technology * unique combination of 2 electric motors * unique 4×4 S-AWC drive * head-up display * luggage compartment volume up to 471 l * freeway driving * free parking in selected cities * purely electric range up to 45 km (EAER according to WLTP) * purely electric range in the urban cycle up to 55 km (EAER City according to WLTP) * option of standard and fast charging * V2X technology * 230 V and 1500 W on-board socket * warranty on drive battery 8 years / 160,000 km PLUG-IN HYBRID ADVANTAGES E.g.: Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross PHEV 4×4 enables emission-free driving in pure electric mode with a range of 45 km, up to a speed of 135 km/h. In this mode, the Eclipse Cross PHEV 4×4 does not switch on the gasoline engine and therefore does not consume even a liter of fuel. On the contrary, conventional hybrids allow a range of only a few kilometers in pure electric mode, and then the gasoline engine is connected. As a result, fuel consumption and the amount of emissions produced increases. At the same time, the efficiency and advantages of the option of electric driving decrease. In their essence, hybrids also have low local emissions and can be economical with a suitable driving style. However, during longer drives in cities and on the highway at higher speeds, the advantage of conventional hybrids is somewhat lost due to the short range in pure electric mode. The study also revealed that in the case of recharging an average of 1.6 times a day, the fuel savings are up to 70% (compared to a comparably large vehicle with a conventional gasoline engine), which represents a significant annual fuel saving of approximately 36,000 CZK.* Based on market research in 2019PHEV (PLUG-IN HYBRID ELECTRIC VEHICLE)Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) is a designation for parallel hybrid cars whose battery can also be recharged from an external power source (electrical socket). HOW DOES PHEV WORK? Plug-in hybrids (PHEV) work in the same way as cars with a hybrid drive. In addition, however, they have the advantage of being able to recharge from an external source of electricity. The larger battery capacity allows them to operate emission-free at a distance of up to 45 km. However, the driver can switch to hybrid mode, which saves the battery, and longer journeys can be completed only with the internal combustion engine. The new ECLIPSE CROSS adopted a modified 4WDPHEV drive system with a pair of electric motors from the OUTLANDER PHEV model. The architecture used includes one front and one rear powerful electric motor, a large-capacity drive battery and a 2.4MIVEC internal combustion engine, which ensures fast, quiet and at the same time dynamic acceleration - typical for electric cars. The drive battery with a capacity of 13.8 kWh enables a purely electric range of up to 55 km (according to WLTP), so electricity should be sufficient for most daily commutes. Thanks to the architecture based on an electric car without a gearbox, The Eclipse CrossPHEV boasts completely smooth acceleration with no jerks when shifting. A quieter PHEV system will guarantee a smooth, comfortable and fully emission-free drive for a better future. The original architecture, benefiting from the advantages of the natural simplicity of electric cars (absence of a gearbox, purely electronic control without mechanical coupling, etc.) and supported by a very sophisticated PHEV operating system from our own development, brings obvious advantages in terms of space (minimum compromises compared to a variant with an internal combustion engine) or efficiency. PHEV drive system based on an electric car it is fully automatic, characterized by smooth operation and no user intervention – and also extremely reliable. Similar to the case of the Outlander PHEV, the vehicle's architecture allows the traction battery to be built into the space between the axles, which brings obvious benefits to the customer. * The battery does not encroach on the passenger space / does not reduce the luggage space * The center of gravity of the vehicle is reduced * The driving characteristics are better balanced compared to cars with a battery in the back * Excellent protection against electric shock in the event of an accident Thanks to the top innovative V2H technology and an on-board socket with a power of up to 1500 W, you can power electrical devices and appliances from the car when you are outside the range of the electrical distribution network. It will also serve as a reliable source of electricity in emergency situations. The vehicle can fulfill the role of an accumulator powering the entire household with the help of stored electricity. Since the Eclipse Cross PHEV can generate its own electricity from fuel, after a full charge and refueling, it can provide enough energy for ordinary households with an input of up to 10 kWh. DRIVING MODES PHEVK three driving modes are available: in EV mode, electric motors are used to drive the vehicle, drawing electricity from the battery of the drive system; series hybrid mode uses the gasoline engine to generate electricity for the electric motors that power the vehicle; the parallel hybrid mode, on the other hand, uses the gasoline engine directly to drive the vehicle with the assistance of electric motors. Thanks to the automatic switching between these modes depending on the driving conditions, with the priority of the EV mode, the driver can enjoy the joy of electric propulsion in a variety of environments. EV driving mode Quiet, emission-free electric driving is the optimal choice for low to medium speeds in built-up areas. Serial hybrid mode When accelerating or climbing hills, the internal combustion engine is used to generate electricity, while the vehicle is powered by electric motors. Parallel hybrid mode When driving at high speed, e.g. overtaking other vehicles on the highway, the car is powered by an internal combustion engine with the assistance of electric motors. USE THE PLUG-IN HYBRID TECHNOLOGY TO THE MAXIMUM The display shows the various functions of the electric drive, including the battery charge level or the eco-index. You will thus see the flow and current energy consumption, as well as the status of regenerative braking, which helps recharge the batteries during deceleration. The driver can view the history of his journeys and check how many kilometers he has driven with a certain amount of energy. SAILING - recuperation switched off Turn off recuperation and the vehicle drives smoothly without engaging the electric motor. The electric motor therefore does not consume energy, although the car is still moving and at the same time there is no regenerative braking. SMART BRAKING - recuperation switched on Slow down without using the brake. Release the gas pedal - the electric motor then provides a negative torque, which reduces the speed of the vehicle and you recharge the battery at the same time. CLASSIC BRAKING - recuperation on Activate battery charging when you press the brake pedal and thus smartly get energy back with every braking. 4X4 S‑AWC DRIVE SYSTEM Thanks to the high rigidity of the body and the optimization of the suspension of the front and rear wheels, the efficiency of the S-AWC drive system has been increased even more (Super-All Wheel Control), which was reflected in better driving behavior in accordance with the driver's intentions and in favor of a more comfortable and quieter ride. The PHEV version combines the S-AWC system with a 4WD drive based on two electric motors with the ability to freely distribute the driving force between the front and rear electric motors without losses in the transmission. The system supports an extraordinary level of steering control, cornering and braking, when it uses an agile response - characteristic of an electric car. The designers of the Eclipse Cross PHEV model further optimized the distribution of weight between the axles and lowered the car's center of gravity by placing the high-capacity drive battery under the floor approximately in the middle of the vehicle. The result of the modifications is an even more comfortable ride with exemplary steering stability. The gasoline version is equipped with the S-AWC system with integrated active yaw control around the vertical axis (AYC) for adjusting the braking force between the wheels on the left and right sides for the benefit of precise cornering; there is also an ABS system and active stability control (ASC) for regulating the braking force within the electronically controlled 4WD drive for optimal distribution of driving force between the front and rear wheels. Thanks to the integrated control of the mentioned systems, extremely stable behavior of the vehicle is ensured in full accordance with the driver's intentions. This, in conjunction with the optimally adjusted suspension system, gives the Eclipse Cross PHEV model a high degree of stability and precise driving behavior for everyday use, as well as better controllability on slippery roads. Different driving modes are prepared for owners of the Eclipse Cross PHEV, depending on the condition of the road and driving conditions. The Normal mode brings natural steering settings and stability for various driving situations. The Snow mode strives to stabilize the vehicle's movement on slippery surfaces, such as snowy roads. Gravel mode means excellent handling and stability on unpaved surfaces. The PHEV version also features Tarmac mode for even better cornering capabilities and stability, especially on dry paved surfaces for driving pleasure with an increased sense of security. FIRST-CLASS SAFETY A sense of security always increases the joy behind the wheel. Eclipse Cross PHEV has safety features to support safe driving with the ability to recognize the danger of an accident, warn the driver, help prevent accidents, avoid them or at least mitigate possible damage. In the event of an accident, seven airbags protect passengers. The system includes front, side and head airbags and a driver's knee airbag. The front seats are equipped with seat belts with pretensioners and load limiters, which better fix the body in the event of an impact and at the same time protect the crew in the event of an accident from excessive seat belt tension. Furthermore, the Eclipse Cross PHEV has reinforcement in the area of the chassis, adjustment of the gear ratio of the electric power steering and its response, a new tuning of the shock absorbers and springs. Tires with lower rolling resistance and improved parameters of noise reduction and vibration reduction are used - greater use of noise-absorbing materials in the roof structure, sound absorption of the floor and rear axle mounting, new shaping of the engine and exhaust.
